Ever wonder why there are no party affiliations in Board of Education races? Me too and I don't know the answer, but I'm glad they are. There are good and bad ideas on all sides of the political spectrum and I, for one, am glad that at the local level the discussion of those ideas is not based on party or political ideology. The discussion and adoption of policies that affect our kids shouldn't be based on which side of the aisle one stands on. It should be based plainly and simply what's best for our students, educators and schools.
Those that want to make the Board of Education race about conservative and liberal are telling you that they're willing to leave out ideas that could be good for students, because it doesn't fit their political world view. That's nearsighted and flatly wrong.
