ACEA HOLDS BLUEPRINT COMMUNITY FORUM
Sixty-six Allegany County citizens attended ACEA's Blueprint Community Forum on October 3, 2019 to hear updates and give feedback to a panel of local stakeholders on the next phases of the Blueprint for Maryland's Future. Sean Johnson, member of the Kirwan Commission's Funding Formula Workgroup moderated the event and provided the most recent informaiton from the Commission. Discussion from the panel and the moderator centered around the need to adequately fund Maryland's public schools to ensure that our students have what they need and that our communities see the benefit of high quality public education. The panel included Dr. Heather Hurst, parent and Coordinator of the FSU Educational Leadership Program, Sarah Llewellyn, parent and 2019 Allegany County Teacher of the Year, Tifani Fisher, parent and Vice-President of the Allegany County Chapter of the NAACP and Robin Summerfield, parent and Western Maryland Contact for Senator Ben Cardin.
