MSDE certification information
The following information relates to the MSDE certification process.
The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) will be releasing The Educator Application and Certification Hub (TEACH) in April! TEACH will replace the current certification portal, which shut down on April 20, 2022. TEACH was released on April 26, 2022. All Maryland educators will have access to an online Dashboard where they may apply for certification, make payments, download their certificate, access various online services, and update their contact information. With the release of TEACH, all certification applications will be submitted online!
Existing applicants and certificate holders will need to complete a one-time registration by visiting TEACH at https://certificationhub.msde.maryland.gov. Registration may not occur until after April 26, 2022. MSDE will be providing technical support for educators needing assistance during the registration process. Should you need assistance, please email certinfo.msde@maryland.gov.

- All of the following forms are also located on the Employee Portal:
- Professional Development Activities for Renewal of Advanced Professional Certificate - List of approved activities that may be submitted for credit(s).
- These activities are only for those individuals with an APC. SPC holders must submit "acceptable credit," which is defined as "approved credit taken at a regionally accredited college or through MSDE."
- Professional Learning Activities Form - To be used for ACPS Professional Learning Activities (local credit) and MSDE Credit. Please submit this form immediately following the completion of an approved activity.
- Professional Learning Plan - Completed Activities - Submit this form at the end of the certification cycle.
- If the "senior teacher exemption" was granted for the certificate, write "senior teacher exemption" in the "Completed Activities" section.
- Professional Learning Plan - Proposed Activities - This plan is to be designed and updated by the employee to ensure continued professional growth during the validity period of the new certificate and to fulfill certification renewal requirements.
